<br />23 <br /> <br />Regular Meeting <br /> <br />January 22, 1990 <br /> <br />Page 6 <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced the City Manager's Report. (1) Mr. <br />Gilley stated the electric bills for this past month would be <br />higher than anticipated. LCRA will make a refund to SMEU in the <br />amount of $84,643.00, which will be refunded directly to the <br />utility customers. Mr. Gilley stated we do not agree with LCRA's <br />calculation but will accept the refund amount. (2) The City of <br />San Marcos received the Silver Award from United Way for being in <br />the top fifteen contributors. The Council wants to send a thank <br />you letter to the Employee Group for their efforts in encouraging <br />the contributions. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced the City Attorney's Report. Mr. Taylor <br />stated Karnack contacted him regarding a need to change the <br />acceptance date in the franchise transfer to Mission Cable. The <br />Mayor set a meeting for Friday, January 26, 1990 at 11:30 a.m. to <br />consider the amendment. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced an Executive Session pursuant to Article <br />6252-17, Sections 2(e) and (f), V.A.C.S., to discuss contemplated <br />litigation, matters of the duties of the City Attorney to the <br />City pursuant to the Code of Professional Responsibility of the <br />State Bar of Texas clearly conflicts with Article 6252-17 <br />(discussion of terms of Tax Abatement Agreements with San Marcos <br />Factory Stores, Ltd. and VF Factory Outlet, Inc.); purchase and <br />value of real property, respectively. Mr. Moore moved the <br />Council adjourn into Executive Session at 10:23 p.m. and Mr. Hart <br />seconded the motion. <br /> <br />Mr. Moore moved the Council reconvene at 12:10 a.m. and Ms. <br />Kissler seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The meeting adjourned at 12:12 a.m. on motion made by Mr. Moore <br />and seconded by Ms. Kissler. <br /> <br /> <br />~~~.~ <br /> <br />ly G.
