The Pathway will run basically from the San <br />Marcos Visitor Center to a connection point ,,; i t"e Texas State UnNersity Campus Trail on <br />Aquarena Springs and Charles :Austin Drive. Tip s trail will provide the linkage to connect the <br />City's Visitor's Center to Texas State's proposed Visitor Center near the River Center. <br />The construction will include the installation of 8.600 If of 10 ft. lighted hikeftaike trail that will <br />be a combination of edged decomposed granite graiel, concrete, boardwalk and floating trail. <br />The project will include safety railing as appropriate, signage, benches, trash cans, bike <br />racks and landscaping. The work will be completed within City owned RO%J'J. The completion <br />of this trail will provide for the connection of hikeibike trail identified in the San Marcos <br />Transportation Master Plan, the proposed City Trail Master Plan and the CAMPO 2030 <br />Regional Bicycle System with connections listed in the Texas State Campus Master Plan for <br />2006-2.015. The pathway is designed to increase safety and bicycle ridership, information <br />gathered from the biking community as well as several studies and AASH70 guidelines <br />support moving the hikelbike portion of the trails system out of the road alig. --ent, away from <br />the narrow and congested road right-of-vray to ncease safety and usage of the resulting <br />bikeway. <br />ADDITIONAL INFORMATION REQUIRE] <br />DIRECTIONAL MAPS, SITE MAPS, GENERAL.
