Hart Fred Guerra Bill Plummer Betty Kissler* Kathy Morris* Acting City Manager Rodney Cobb City Attorney Mark Taylor Police Chief Tom Martin Director of MIS Ramona Brown Director of Personnel Carolyn Liner Director of Planning Mary Martinez Director of Public Works George Boeker Fire Chief Dan O'Leary Also Present: Nick Caruso, Kim McCullom, Rick Fisher, Johnny Armstead, Ramona Rodriguez, Cloteal Haynes, Dick Verony, Jerry Romero, Melissa Millecam, Ruben Garza, Janace Wade, John Wade, Jim Gandy, Collette Boruff, Lupe Cruz, Wayne Ford, Bill Henderson, Jenny Kile, Jane Hughson and Renate Yanity, Recording Secretary Mayor Pro-Tern Moore called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Mayor Pro-Tern Moore introduced for consideration approval of an appointment to the Cemetery Commission. Mr. Guerra nominated Jack Cates and John Beene Sr. Mr. Plummer nominated Doris Kyle for reappointment. Mr. Hernandez stated ~hat one appointment would still need to be filled. The Council agreed to fill that position at their next regular meeting. The Council unanimously agreed to appoint Jack Cates, John Beene, Sr. and reappoint Doris Kyle. Mayor Pro-Tern Moore introduced for consideration approval of an appointment to the Minorities Commission. Mr. Hernandez nominated Eugene Rios and Mr. Moore nominated James Bryant. Mr. Guerra nominated Leonard Cardenas for reappointment. Mr. Hernandez withdrew his nomination of Eugene Rios and nominated Kathy Matlock for reappointment. The Council unanimously agreed to appoint James Bryant, Leonard Cardenas and reappoint Kathy Matlock. Mayor Pro-Tern Moore introduced for consideration approval of an appointment to the Commisison for Women. Mr. Moore nominated Roxanne McKimmey for reappointment. Mr. Hart nominated Betty Jean Harris. Mr. Guerra nominated for reappointment, Susie Moore, Orpha Bazan, Rose Brooks and Shirley Austin. The Council unanimously agreed to appoint Betty Jean Harris, and reappoint Roxanne McKimmey, Susie Moore, Orpha Bazan, Rose Brooks and Shirley Austin. Mayor Pro-Tern Moore introduced for consideration approval of appointments to the Temporary Citizens Committee on Solid Waste Management. Mr. Plummer nominated Don Jester. Mr. Moore nominated Mary Cauble. Mr. Hernandez nominated Monica Davidson and Mr. Guerra nominated Joe Ptak. The Council unanimously approved the nominations. Mayor Pro-Tern Moore introduced for consideration approval of an appointment to the Ethics Review Commission. Mr. Guerra informed the Council that Ms. Anna Farr had resigned from the Commission and that there was only one vacancy that needed to be filled. Mr. Guerra nominated Mr. Karl Brown. The Council unanimously approved the nomination. Mayor Pro-Tern Moore introduced for consideration a public hearing and approval of an Ordinance on first reading, the caption was read as follows: *Ms. Killser and Ms. Morris were not in attendance.
