W. WITHERS SUBURBAN TRACTS, LOCATED AT 1521 N. BISHOP, <br />FROM "R-l" (SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL) TO "OP" (OFFICE/PROFESSIONAL). <br /> <br />The Mayor then opened the public hearing. Kenneth Sutton, agent for <br />the applicant, addressed the Council about the proposed zoning change. <br />No one else wished to speak to the proposed change, therefore the Mayor <br />closed the public hearing. Mr. Stokes stated that the question of economic <br />feasibility should not be the concern of the Council. He stated that <br />a deed of dedication for right-of-way to the public should be given before <br />the third reading. Mr. Brown stated his concern about the inadequacy of <br />Bishop Street for the additional traffic. Mr. Stokes moved to approve <br />the Ordinance on first reading. Mr. Cavazos seconded the motion, which <br />passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration a public hearing and first reading <br />of an Ordinance read in its entirety on a permanent zoning request, the <br />caption of which follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGULATES AND RESTRICTS <br />THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED <br />SEPTEMBER 29, 1980 (VOL. 54) BY ZONING 0.5 ACRES OUT OF THE J. M. <br />VERAMENDI LEAGUE NO. TWO, FROM "AO" (AGRICULTURAL-OPEN SPACE DISTRICT) <br />TO "C" (COMMERCIAL). <br /> <br />Mr. James moved to approve the Ordinance on first reading. Mrs. Norris <br />seconded the motion. The Mayor then opened the public hearing. No one <br />wished to speak either for or against the zoning request. The Mayor then <br />closed the public hearing.
