<br />33 <br /> <br />regular meeting <br /> <br />january 12, 1981 <br /> <br />page four <br /> <br />Mrs. Norris moved to approve the Ordinance. Mr. James seconded the <br />motion. The Mayor then opened the public hearing. Mr. Sutton, agent <br />for the applicant, stated that Mr. Harper was willing to provide the <br />City with the required right-of-way. No one else wished to speak either <br />for or against the zoning request. The Mayor then closed the public <br />hearing. On the motion to approve the Ordinance, the vote was for <br />unanimous approval. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration a proposed zoning change of Lots <br />1 and 2, in Block 2 of the C. L. McGehee Addition, located at 602 W. <br />Hutchison St., from "R-l" (Single Family Residential) to "TH" (Town.... <br />house). The Mayor stated that this item had been withdrawn at the <br />request of the applicant. He then opened the public hearing. No <br />one wished to speak either for or against the zoning request. The <br />Mayor then closed the public hearing. He stated that the public hearing <br />would be continued at a later date. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration a proposed zoning change of <br />Lot 6 in Block 2 of the C. H. McGehee Addition, from "R-l" (Single <br />Family Residential) to "TH" (Townhouse). The Mayor stated that this <br />item had been withdrawn at the request of the applicant. He then <br />opened the public hearing. No one wished to speak either for or against <br />the proposed zoning change. The Mayor then closed the public hearing. <br />He stated that the public hearing would be continued at a later date. <br /> <br />The Mayor then introduced for consideration a Resolution approving the <br />sale of bonds by the San Marcos Industrial Development Corporation and <br />Butler Manufacturing, the caption of which was read as follows: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL APPROVING THE ISSUANCE OF BONDS BY <br />THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION TO FINANCE <br />A PROJECT FOR BUTLER ~1ANUFACTURING COMPANY. <br /> <br />Carolyn Truesdell, attorney for the Corporation, addressed the Council <br />concerning the requested bond sale. Mr. Stokes stated that the City <br />should receive copies of records showing how the monies are spent. <br />Carolyn Truesdell stated that the Corporation would have copies which <br />could be provided to the city. <br /> <br />The Mayor Pro-Tem introduced for consideration an Ordinance on first <br />reading authorizing condemnation of l5'x 167' strip at 405 Railroad <br />St. for purpose of reconstructing and widening Railroad Street read in <br />its entirety, the caption of which follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />DECLARING THE NECESSITY OF ACQUIRING CERTAIN PROPERTY WITHIN THE <br />CORPORATE LIMITS OF SAID CITY FOR A PUBLIC PURPOSE; DESCRIBING <br />THE PROJECT FOR WHICH SAID PROPERTY IS TO BE ACQUIRED; DESCRIBING <br />SAID PROPERTY; AUTHORIZING CITY ATTORNEY TO INSTITUTE CONDEMNATION <br />PROCEEDINGS AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mrs. Norris moved to approve the Ordinance on first reading. Mr. James <br />seconded the motion. On roll call, the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: <br /> <br />Brown, James, Norris, Stokes, Tarbutton <br /> <br />NAY: <br /> <br />Cavazos <br /> <br />The Mayor Pro-Tem introduced for consideration a Resolution ordering <br />an election to be held Saturday, April 4, 1981 and establishing <br />procedures, the caption of which was read as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />ORDERING AN ELECTION TO BE HELD ON THE 4TH DAY OF APRIL, 1981 FOR <br />THE PURPOSE OF ELECTING OFFICIALS FOR SAID CITY AND ESTABLISHING <br />PROCEDURES FOR SAID ELECTION. <br />
