<br />35 <br /> <br />regular meeting <br /> <br />january 12, 1981 <br /> <br />page six <br /> <br />The Mayor Pro-Tem introduced for consideration a Resolution authorizing <br />the Mayor to execute a correction warranty deed on property previously <br />conveyed to Alfonso Rodriquez and Candelaria Rodriguez on May 23, 1967, <br />the caption of which was read as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A CORRECTION WARRANTY DEED ON <br />PROPERTY PREVIOUSLY CONVEYED BY THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS TO <br />ALFONSO RODRIGUEZ AND WIFE, CANDELARIA RODRIGUEZ ON MAY 23, 1967 <br />AND RECORDED IN VOLUME 217, PAGES 346-351, HAYS COUNTY DEED <br />RECORDS AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mrs. Norris moved to adopt the Resolution. <br />motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. James seconded the <br /> <br />The Mayor Pro-Tem introduced for consideration the sale of cemetery <br />property. A memo from Dinah Elwell concerning the sale of cemetery <br />property is attached and made a part of these minutes. Mr. Stokes <br />stated that he could see no reason for not selling an easement if by <br />selling a piece of land, other people were not blocked from getting <br />to their property and the purchaser should be liable for the cost of <br />the survey. In order to establish a clear policy on the request, staff <br />was asked to provide council with a report of areas available for sale <br />in the cemetery and a procedure for handling future requests. <br /> <br />The Mayor Pro-Tem introduced for consideration award of bid on fire truck. <br />The City Manager stated that monies were available through Community <br />Development to purchase one fire truck. The second fire truck would have <br />come from Revenue Sharing funds, but the City is short $108,000. Council <br />was asked to defer awarding the second fire truck until the next Council <br />meeting. Mr. Brown moved to award the bid for one fire truck to F.M.C. <br />Corporation in the amount of $73,805. Mr. Cavazos seconded the motion, <br />which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor Pro-Tem introduced for consideration authorization to pay <br />for survey of right-of-way on Bishop Street. Mr. Stokes asked about <br />putting this item out for bid. The City Manager stated that it might <br />cause some problems with a different engineer doing only this phase of <br />the project and another one doing the rest. Mr. Tarbutton moved to go <br />out on bid on this item. Mrs. Norris seconded the motion.
