W <br />QZ <br />^° ORDINANCE NO. 2001 -_ g <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING DIVISION 6 OF ARTICLE <br />3 OF CHAPTER 2 OF THE CITY CODE TO CHANGE THE <br />NAME OF THE CITIZEN REVIEW COMMISSION TO THE <br />SUNSET ADVISORY COMMISSION; AND INCLUDING <br />PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS. <br />RECITALS: <br />194. <br />1. The Citizen Review Commission, in its June 13, 2001 report to the City Council, recommended <br />that the City Council change the name of the "Citizen Review Commission" to the "Sunset Advisory <br />Commission ". <br />2. The City Council wishes to implement this recommendation of the Citizen Review Commission. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br />SECTION 1. Division 6, Citizen Review Commission, of Article 3 of Chapter 2 of the City Code <br />is amended as follows (underlining indicates added text; overstrike indicates deleted text): <br />DIVISION 6. SUNSET ADVISORY 61TEP4 REN fE ' COMMISSION <br />Sec. 2.171. Definitions. <br />In this division: <br />City board, commission or committee means a board, commission or committee created <br />by the city council whose primary function is to advise the city council. <br />Commission means the sunset advisory citizen review commission. <br />Sec. 2.172. Composition; appointment of members; officers. <br />(a) The sunset advisory citizen review commission is established every three years, <br />composed of seven citizens of the city who are appointed by the city council for terms not to <br />exceed 12 months. <br />(b) The commission members will elect a chairperson and vice - chairperson within 30 <br />days after their appointment.
