MINUTES OF THE SUNSET ADVISORY COMMISSION MEETING <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS <br />SEPTEMBER 4, 2009 <br />STATE OF TEXAS § <br />COUNTY OF HAYS § <br />1. City Manager <br />Stephanie Reyes, Asst. to the City Manager <br />Shelley Goodwin, Deputy City Clerk <br />Upon a quorum, present, the Regular Meeting of the San Marcos Sunset Advisory <br />Commission was called to order at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, September 4, 2009 in the San <br />Marcos City Manager's Conference Room, 630 E. Hopkins, San Marcos, Texas 78666. <br />2. Approve minutes from the August 7 2009 meeting <br />MOTION: Upon a motion made by Commissioner Hensleigh —and seconded by <br />Commissioner Cook, the Sunset Advisory Commission voted four (4) for and none (0) <br />opposed to accept the minutes as amended. The motion carried unanimously. <br />3. Discuss Board/ Commissions who oversee hotel Occupancy Tax monies and the <br />Economic Development San Marcos Board <br />The Sunset Advisory Commission reviewed the Convention Visitors Bureau, Main Street <br />Advisory Board and the Arts Commission paperwork which they submitted. The <br />Commission stated they would like to continue the discussion of having a Board that <br />would oversee all the Boards and Commission that receive Hotel Occupancy Taxes. <br />Stephanie Reyes stated she had spoken to Michael Cosentino, City Attorney, regarding <br />the Minority Tourism Advisory Board. She stated Mr. Cosentino suggested the <br />• Commission could make a recommendation to have another Board or Commission pick <br />up the responsibilities of the Minority Tourism Advisory Board if they so choose. <br />
