MOTION: Upon a motion made by Commissioner Hensleigh and seconded by <br />Commissioner Occhialim, the Sunset Advisory Commission voted four (4) for and none <br />(0) opposed to table this item until the next Sunset Advisory Commission meeting. The <br />motion carried unanimously. <br />4. Review Meeting Tracking Sheet and Discuss Board/ Commission Meetings each <br />person has attended. <br />The Sunset Advisory Commission reviewed and updated the Tracking Sheet. The <br />Commissioners reassigned the Boards and Commissions that have not been attended by <br />two members. <br />5. Discuss Idea for Neighborhood Commission <br />Stephanie Reyes presented a possible Neighborhood Commission layout. She stated the <br />City Council has put funds aside to hire a part time employee to handle neighborhood <br />issues but the City Council has not discussed if and how the position will play a role in <br />the Neighborhood Commission if one is created. Ms. Reyes also provided the <br />Commission with Chuck Swallow, Director of Development Services, research he had <br />conducted regarding how other municipalities use their Neighborhood Commissions. <br />The Sunset Advisory Commission agreed by consensus to bring this discussion back at <br />their next Regular Meeting. The Commission also asked that staff create bullet points of <br />what other municipalities do and to also explain the difference between this commission <br />and COMA. <br />6. Review. discuss and provide direction regarding suizgestions and recommendations <br />for Board /Commission changes <br />The Sunset Advisory Commission review and discussed changes with <br />Boards /Commission, they also requested this item back at their next Regular Meeting. <br />7. Set Next Meeting Date and Time: Suggested Dates Friday, September 11. 2009 or <br />Monday, September 14 2009 at 11.30 a.m. <br />The Sunset Advisory Commission agreed by consensus to hold the next meeting on <br />Monday, September 14, 2009 at 3:30 p.m. in the San Marcos City Hall Conference <br />Room. <br />8. Other Business <br />The Sunset Commission directed staff to place an item on the next agenda to discuss <br />the Attendance policy for Boards and Commissions <br />9. Question and answer <br />10.
