MOTION: Upon a motion made by Councilmember Guerrero and a second by
Councilmember Thomaides, the City Council voted seven (7) for and none (0) opposed,
to approve Resolution 2008 -58R, as previously captioned. The motion carried.
28. Presentation and discussion on the results of the Citizen Summit Meetings and
the development of a City Vision Statement and direction to staff.
At the request of the presenter, this item was postponed to the May 6, 2008 meeting.
29. Discussion on the presentation by Kirk Wilson of T. Wilson & Associates, Inc.
regarding the proposed Riverway Park development.
Kirk Wilson, T. Wilson & Associates, and Brent Spraggins, with TBG Partners,
presented a concept plan, currently referred to as the Ingram property on Post Road. The
uniqueness of the property has connectivity challenges and will require a bridge to be
built for a cost of approximately $10 — $14 million dollars. The bridge will have a
pedestrian element allowing people to go out and enjoy the river. They want to develop a
sense of community with pocket parks and connecting trails. The street will run along
the river, giving access to the river for everyone. The architecture will reflect a Southern
aesthetic and German influence and will provide a different sense of place. The Village
Square will be pedestrian - scaled. Since the lots are smaller, the public space becomes
much more important.
0 30. Discussion on setting a joint workshop with the Transportation Advisory Board.
This item was postponed to one of the May meetings.
31. Question and answer session with press and public.
There were no questions.
32. Adjournment.
MOTION: Upon a motion made by Councilmember Jones and a second by
Councilmember Couch, the City Council voted seven (7) for and none (0) opposed, to
adjourn the regular session of the San Marcos City Council at 9:17 p.m. on Tuesday,
April 15, 2008. The motion carried unanimously.
Susan Narvaiz, Mayor
P erryyT:
Mash rn, City Clerk
PDFConvert.2752.I.RM041508 Minutes.doc
