An announcement will be made of the basis for the Executive Session discussion. The City Council may also publicly discuss any item listed on the agenda for Executive Session. 4. Consider adoption or direction to Staff on matters discussed in Executive Session. The San Marcos City Council reconvened into regular session at 10:44 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20, 2008. The following direction to staff was required from Executive Session: Direction was given to staff regarding the possibility of an economic incentive to prospective businesses. 5. Invocation Merlin Starr, Chaplain of Central Texas Medical Center, provided the invocation. 6. Pledge of Allegiance The assembly recited the Pledge of Allegiance. 7. Citizen Comments Darrell David, 1819 Pebble Brook, New Braunfels, Texas 78130, spoke regarding Item 40 regarding abandonment of Meiner Street. He represents the applicant and is present to answer any questions the Council might have. He encouraged the Council to support the Planning and Zoning recommendation. Elva Gonzales, 1201 Mountain View, San Marcos, Texas 78666, spoke in support of Item 12, CDBG program. Marsha Moore, 202 ?U. Sierra Circle, San Marcos, Texas 78666, spoke in support of Item 12, CDBG program and provided complimentary HCWC tickets to the City Manager for an event on May 31, 2008. 8. Staff Reports Rick Menchaca, City Manager, provided the Council with names for the Conference Center rooms. He stated he is working with Dr. Lewis on setting a Workshop so Council can review the results of the Visioning Workshop. He asked the Council to check their calendars to see if -------- or ---------- works for them and to contact him. He also informed the Council that Staff had been interviewing for the Airport Director and will soon be looking for Planning and Engineering Directors. 9.
