I I RESOLUTION NO. 2003-jjj_R A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF A SERVICE CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY AND THE HERITAGE ASSOCIATION OF SAN MARCOS RELATED TO THE MERRIMAN CABIN; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. RECITALS: 1. The Merriman Cabin was donated to the City by Southwest Texas State University in 2001, and was moved to a location in Veramendi Plaza and restored at the expense of the Heritage Association of San Marcos, assisted by donations from numerous individuals and businesses. 2. The Heritage Association has requested that the City approve a service contract related to maintenance and use of the Merriman Cabin, similar to the service contract between the City and the Heritage Association for the Charles S. Cock House -Museum in Veramendi Plaza. 3. The Parks and Recreation Board has reviewed the request of the Heritage Association, and has recommended that it be approved by the City Council. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: PART 1. The attached Merriman Cabin Service Contract between the City of San Marcos and the Heritage Association of San Marcos related to use and maintenance of the Merriman Cabin is approved. PART 2. The City Manager, Dan O'Leary, is authorized to execute the contract on behalf of the City. PART 3.
