Create a historic preservation network for <br />property and business owners to share resources, <br />exchange best practices, receive technical <br />assistance, and collaborate on preservation - <br />related initiatives. <br />2. Educate realtors about the implications of <br />purchasing designated historic properties and <br />educate contractors about working with historic <br />buildings. Consider establishing a certificate <br />program for both topics, like San Antonio's <br />Rehabber Club Contractor & Professional <br />Certifications. <br />3. Consider creating a City History Network for <br />history teachers in public and private schools, as <br />well as homeschool groups. Consider a virtual or <br />in -person networking event and/or establish a <br />listserve to connect teachers to share resources. <br />4. Strengthen collaboration with other City <br />departments and programs to ensure work <br />supports the historic preservation program. This <br />may include regular meetings with department <br />leaders on projects affecting historic and <br />cultural resources, and ongoing communication <br />with Council about preservation program <br />achievements. <br />5. Create an educational plan and public <br />information campaign about the historic <br />preservation program. Share information <br />via a variety of outreach methods, including <br />connecting with existing networks to reach <br />people of all ages and backgrounds without the <br />use of jargon and "legalese". <br />6.
