Chambers <br />obtained eleven - <br />league land grant <br />containing portions of <br />San Marcos. <br />REPUBLIC OF TEXAS (1835-1845) <br />EARLY STATEHOOD (1845-1861) <br />The United States <br />annexed Texas. It <br />became the 28th state <br />admitted December 29. <br />liB45 1846 <br />William W.
