2019 MY HISTORIC SMTX CITY OF SAN MARCOS HISTORIC RESOURCES SURVEY <br />HPF THC CLG Grant <br />Hicks & Company with Terracon <br />Reevaluate 1992, 1996, and 1997 surveys; survey resources not <br />previously documented within the survey boundary built in 1975 <br />or earlier; windshield survey for an area north of the Texas State <br />University Campus. <br />Document changes in neighborhoods, recommend new and <br />expanded local, state, and national designations, and diversify types <br />of listings. <br />2,044 properties. <br />204 individual resources classified as high preservation priority. <br />1 new Historic District. <br />6 potential Historic District Expansions for local, state, and/or national <br />designation. <br />Noted significant losses in East Guadalupe Neighborhood Survey (7 <br />of 18 resources identified as significant in that survey no longer exist). <br />My Historic SMTX City of San Marcos Historic Resources Survey Report <br />San Marcos Development Code amended to include a demolition <br />review for historic -age resources (2019). <br />Local landmark designation criteria updated (2023). <br />San Marcos Colored School Home Economics Building (also known <br />as the Dunbar School Home Economics Building), which was <br />recommended NRHP eligible, was subsequently listed in the NRHP <br />(2024). <br />Dunbar Historic District, which was recommended NRHP eligible, was <br />subsequently listed in the NRHP (2024). <br />�r <br />MY HISTORIC S <br />PRESERVATION IN THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS 65 <br />
