4. Reconvene and Consider Action on Item Discussed During Executive Session •
The San Marcos City Council reconvened into regular session at 6:33 p.m. on Tuesday,
June 17, 2008. The following direction to staff was required from Executive Session:
Council received an update regarding encroachments into San Marcos' extraterritorial
jurisdiction from staff and provided direction.
5. Invocation
Pastor Chad Hayes of Christ Church provided the invocation.
6. Pledge of Allegiance
The assembly recited the Pledge of Allegiance.
7. Citizen Comments
Joseph Ptak, 505 Patricia, stated he was present to correct a statement by Ken Bell that
there was no commercial radio station in San Marcos. He
presented to the council the new solid waste collection schedule for the new once-a-week
collection. He also reported that an Airport Manager has been hired and will be on board
July 1. He pointed out that the permit report was in the Council a-box and stated that a
monthly building permit report will be available to the public as well. Staff is also
working on a development map pinpointing major development. He also attended some
economic development meetings for the purpose of clarifying roles and making sure we
were in alignment.
9. City Council Reports
Councilmember Jones reported the National League of Cities will be conducting a Green
Conference in Portland, Oregon and encouraged attendance. It will be a great
opportunity to see an objective view and how other cities look at it responsibly. He met
with the Economic Development Director and is impressed with how she has been
extending her hand to the community. He reminded everyone that Juneteenth events will
•
PDFConvert.3021.1.RM061708 Minutes.doc
