Regular ~ting November 24, 2003 Page 2 <br /> <br />Mayor Habingreither introduced for consideration one appointment to the <br />Human Services Advisory Board. Ms. Narvaiz moved to appoint Joe A. <br />Gonzales, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Habingreither introduced for consideration three appointments to the <br />Youth Commission. Mr. Mihalkanin moved to reinstate Fabian Vasquez. Mr. <br />Mihalkanin stated in the future he wanted all written correspondence from <br />the Commission. Mr. Taylor stated from reading Mr. Corbin's <br />correspondence, he feels Mr. Vasquez should not be reinstated. Ms. Narvaiz <br />stated she feels the absences could be because of the time of the meeting. <br />Mr. Thomaides stated the attendance policy is one of the top issues the <br />Sunset Review Commission is reviewing. He stated he feels if Mr. Vasquez <br />misses another meeting, he should be removed from the Commission. The <br />Council then voted unanimously for the reinstatement of Fabian Vasquez. <br /> <br />Mayor Habingreither introduced for consideration one appointment to the <br />Main Street Advisory Board. Mr. Thomaides moved to appoint William <br />Hayslip, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Habingreither introduced for consideration confirmation of the City <br />Manager's appointment to the Civil Service Commission. Mr. Montoya moved <br />to appoint Rosemary Suniga and Mr. Thomaides second the motion, which <br />passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Habingreither introduced for consideration a public hearing and <br />adoption of an Ordinance on emergency, the caption which was read as <br />follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />SETTING A RATE FOR THE PROVISION OF ADDITIONAL CARTS FOR COLLECTION <br />AND DISPOSAL OF RESIDENTIAL SOLID WASTE; INCLUDING PROCEDURAL <br />PROVISIONS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br /> <br />Mayor Habingreither opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to <br />speak. No one did, so Mayor Habingreither closed the public hearing. Mr. <br />Taylor moved to adopt the Ordinance on emergency and Ms. Narvaiz seconded <br />the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Habingreither introduced for consideration approval of minutes of the <br />Regular Meeting held November 10, 2003, approval of two Ordinances on <br />second reading, adoption of six Resolutions, approval of Change Order No. 2 <br />in the amount of $28,040.45 to the Davis Lane and Aquarena Springs Drive <br />Project with Hunter Industries, Ltd. and approval of Change Order No. 4 in <br />the amount of $52,373.36 to the Cottonwood Creek Sanitary Sewer <br />Improvements Project with S.J. Louis of Texas, Ltd., LPP, on consensus. <br />The Council removed Items #13 and #16, adoption of Resolutions, to be <br />considered separately. Mr. Montoya moved for approval of minutes of the <br />Regular Meeting held November 10, 2003, approval of two Ordinances on <br />second reading, adoption of four Resolutions, approval of Change Order No. <br />2 in the amount of $28,040.45 to the Davis Lane and Aquarena Springs Drive <br /> <br /> <br />
