<br />~~,A" <br /> <br />TENANT ASSISTANCE PLAN <br /> <br />?XO ID:'.amOp.§'t'J;l.t ionß <br /> <br />The City of San Marcos and the Housing Authority's overall plan for the <br />Rental Rehabilitation Program is designed to meet the following objectives: <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />to encourage freedom of housing choices and spacial de-concentration <br />of assisted housing. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />to provide improved living conditions for very low income families <br />while maintaining their rent payment at an affordable level. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />to make available a greater selection of housing by encouraging <br />property owners to rehabilitate substandard units. <br /> <br />The City of San Marcos will make available to qualified property owners <br />funds necessary to upgrade the structural qualities of residential units. <br />The San Marcos Housing Authority will assist temporarily displaced families <br />whose units are being rehabilitated and also will handle all the necessary <br />requirements for rental assistance to qualified families. The Housing <br />Authority office is located at 1201 Thorpe Lane, San Marcos, Texas. <br /> <br />The staff of the San Marcos Housing Authority will assist with the <br />following: <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />will perform the role of a principal advisor and investigator for the <br />applicant to achieve assisted housing certification. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />will co-ordinate all that is necessary to facilitate the placement of <br />certified families in the rehabilitated units. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />will assist with the necessary outreach in conducting briefings with <br />tenants/landlords and with the screening and selection process. <br /> <br />4. <br /> <br />will assist families/landlords in filling out official forms and other <br />necessary documents. <br /> <br />5. <br /> <br />will respond promptly to complaints by families or owners and resolve <br />concerns as appropriate. <br /> <br />6. <br /> <br />will assure compliance with all H.U.D. & E.E.O. requirements. <br />
