<br />-4- <br /> <br />SECTION 14. That said election shall be held under <br />the provisions of and in accordance with the provisions of <br />the Charter and ordinances of the City of San Marcos, and, so <br />far as may be applicable, in accordance with the laws of the <br />Stat.e of Texas. <br /> <br />SECTION 15. That. a copy of this Ordinance signed by <br />the Hayor of the City, attest.ed by the City Secretary and <br />approved by the City Attorney, shall serve as proper notice <br />of said election. <br /> <br />SECTION 16. That. notice of said election including a <br />Spanish translation thereof as soon as it is available, shall <br />be published twice in a newspaper published in San Marcos on <br />July 17, 1987, and on July 24, 1987, and shall be posted in <br />each City election precinct in which said election is t.o be <br />held on or before July 17, 1987, and shall be posted on the <br />bulletin board at City Hall on or before July 17, 1987. <br /> <br />SECTION 17. That a copy of this Ordinance shall be <br />delivered on or before July 24, 1987, to the presiding judge <br />of each election precinct in which the election is ordered to <br />be held, which copy shall serve as a notice or writ of <br />election as required by Section 4.007 of Chapter 4 of the <br />Election Code, V.T.C.A. <br /> <br />SECTION 18. That testing of the automatic tabulating <br />equipment shall be performed and notice thereof shall be <br />given, in accordance with Subchapter D of Chapter 127 of the <br />Election Code, V.T.C.A. <br /> <br />SECTION 19. That the rate of compensation to be paid <br />judges, clerks and assistant.s t.O the Tabulation Supervisor <br />for services rendered during said joint special election by <br />said City and County of Hays to be held on August 8, 1987 be, <br />and the same is hereby, established at Five Dollars ($5.00) <br />per hour. <br /> <br />SECTION 20. That the additional compensation to be <br />paid judges who deliver returns of said election is hereby <br />established at Twenty-Five Dollars ($25.00). <br /> <br />SECTION 21. That the importance of this Ordinance <br />creates an emergency and an imperat.ive public necessity so <br />that the provisions of the Charter requiring that ordinances <br />shall be presented at three separate meetings and that no <br />ordinance shall become effective until the expiration of ten <br />(10) days following the date of its final passage be <br />suspended, and these provisions are hereby suspended, and <br />this Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and <br />effect from and after its adoption and after its publication <br />in a newspaper of general circulation in the area as required <br />by the Charter of the City of San Marcos, Texas. <br /> <br />PASSED, <br /> <br />APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 7th <br /> <br /> <br />~e:\ ~ <br />~Yo'ahge ?---. <br />Mayor <br /> <br />day of July, 1987. <br /> <br />../ <br /> <br />Attest: <br /> <br />v411ÆJXf! ~ <br /> <br />j/ <br />Janis K.
