<br />214 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 1987-103R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, ADOPTING AN <br />AFFIRMATIVE ACTION PLAN RELATING TO THE <br />RECRUITMENT AND EMPLOYMENT OF CITY <br />EMPLOYEES, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Commission for Minorit.ies of the City of <br />San Marcos was directed by the San Marcos City Council to <br />review the City's existing affirmat.i ve action plan relating <br />to equal employment opportunities with the City of San Marcos <br />and to suggest revised policies and procedures, if determined <br />necessary; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Commission for Minorities held meetings <br />with representatives of various City departments as well as <br />with interested individuals and organizations: and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, data relating to the recruitment and employment <br />of City employees was compiled by the City's Personnel Office <br />and was reviewed by the Commission for Minorities: and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, as a result of the review by the Commission for <br />Minorities, the Commission and City Council find that there <br />is a continuing need for an affirmative action program <br />relating to the recruitment and employment of City employees <br />in order to achieve full equal employment. opportunities but <br />t.hat certain revisions to the City's existing affirmative <br />action plan are necessary to align the program with the <br />changing structure of the City and to better meet the City's <br />needs: now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1. That the City Council adopts the affirmative <br />action plan attached heret.o as Exhibit "Au and incorporated <br />herein for all purposes. <br /> <br />PART 2.
