214 RESOLUTION 1987-103R A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, ADOPTING AN AFFIRMATIVE ACTION PLAN RELATING TO THE RECRUITMENT AND EMPLOYMENT OF CITY EMPLOYEES, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Commission for Minorit.ies of the City of San Marcos was directed by the San Marcos City Council to review the City's existing affirmat.i ve action plan relating to equal employment opportunities with the City of San Marcos and to suggest revised policies and procedures, if determined necessary; and WHEREAS, the Commission for Minorities held meetings with representatives of various City departments as well as with interested individuals and organizations: and WHEREAS, data relating to the recruitment and employment of City employees was compiled by the City's Personnel Office and was reviewed by the Commission for Minorities: and WHEREAS, as a result of the review by the Commission for Minorities, the Commission and City Council find that there is a continuing need for an affirmative action program relating to the recruitment and employment of City employees in order to achieve full equal employment. opportunities but t.hat certain revisions to the City's existing affirmative action plan are necessary to align the program with the changing structure of the City and to better meet the City's needs: now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: PART 1. That the City Council adopts the affirmative action plan attached heret.o as Exhibit "Au and incorporated herein for all purposes. PART 2.
