CHAPTER 5

RECRUITMENT CONTACT PROCEDURES

The City of San Marcos has developed recruiting procedures to ensure
that minorities and women receive adequate notification of all city job
openings. A recruitment contact chart which follows identifies all
City positions and automatically determines what type of search will be
conducted for each position. Searches are divided into three levels:
National, Texas and the Austin/san Marcos/San Antonio area. Local
searches will be conducted for clerical, office machine operators,
technical, labor, trade, and craft positions.

5.01

Recruitment Contact Levels

A.

National Search

1.

City Manager

B.

Texas Search

1.
2.

Directors
Professionals

C.

Austin/San Marcos/San Antonio Search and other cities as
approved

1.
