into limits of survey) will be approximately located, but will not be tagged.
6) The survey point data will be on a separate level and will not be part of the final
plotted drawing.
f) Provide a drawing showing data outlined above on 11 "x 17" sheet size at a scale of
1"=20' and as a MicroStation V8 file. The Engineer will include a 3D file and an
ASCII point list of all survey points.
1.2.13 Provide a preliminary engineering report to include:
a) A preliminary cost estimate using approved roadway design criteria and average low
bid unit prices from at least two sources. The Engineer will separate the estimate into
each improvement for estimation and planning purposes.
b) Prepare the final PDR summarizing the findings of the preliminary design phase to
include recommendations and the final design parameters that will be necessary to
begin the next phase of design. The Engineer will prepare one (2) draft version of the
final report for City review and approval. After incorporating City comments, the
Engineer will prepare two (2) copies of the final version of the PDR outlining the
approach for design phase.
1.3 TASK 3 -CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS AND TECHNICAL
SPECIFICATIONS
The Engineer will prepare final construction plans and technical specifications in
accordance with AASHTO, TxDOT and City design criteria. The plans will include the
following plan sections:
1.3.1 Roadway Design Plans/Details
a) Layouts for spot repairs. The Engineer will include project baseline stationing and
offsets to locations as well as dimensions of each repair on each layout. The Engineer
will include material to be removed at each repair location on the layouts;
b) Plan sheets for sidewalk and ramps, meeting ADA guidelines, connecting existing
pedestrian elements and TxState improvements;
c) Roadway layouts for new guardrail. These layouts will include station/offset for each
guardrail and end treatment;
d) Earthwork measurements, which the Engineer will show on applicable layouts, for
ditch improvements, new guardrail, and spot repair locations. The Engineer will
complete earthwork calculations using average end area method based on estimated
field dimensions;
e) Removal sheets for Peques/Sessom intersection;
f) One (1) typical section for Peques Street;
g) One (1) plan sheet for Peques/Sessom intersection realignment;
KBR-Sessom Drive Roadway Improvements Agreement
6
