92. <br />Regular Meeting <br /> <br />December 1, 2003 <br /> <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />Mayor Habingreither introduced for consideration a public hearing and <br />adoption of a Resolution, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />APPROVING THE ISSUANCE OF A LIMOUSINE SERVICE CERTIFICATE TO MPB <br />UNITED, INC. D/B/A LAVISH LIMOS, FOR THE PROVISION OF LUXURY <br />LIMOUSINE SERVICE IN THE CITY; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mayor Habingreither opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished <br />to speak. No one did, so Mayor Habingreither closed the public hearing. <br />Ms. Narvaiz moved for adoption of the Resolution and Mr. Taylor seconded <br />the motion. Mr. Taylor stated he feels this is a case of free enterprise <br />and sees no reason not to approve. The Council then voted unanimously for <br />adoption of the Resolution. <br /> <br />Mayor Habingreither introduced for consideration adoption of a Resolution, <br />the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />CASTING VOTES ALLOCATED TO THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS FOR A CANDIDATE FOR <br />THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE HAYS COUNTY APPRAISAL DISTRICT; AND <br />DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mayor Habingreither opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished <br />to speak. No one did, so Mayor Habingreither closed the public hearing. <br />Mr. Taylor moved for adoption of the Resolution and Ms. Narvaiz seconded <br />the motion. Mr. Diaz stated he had contacted Pete Islas with Hays County <br />Appraisal District. He stated Mr. Islas had contacted the San Marcos <br />Consolidated Independent School District and Hays County regarding their <br />extra votes. Mr. Taylor stated he had contacted a School Board Member who <br />stated they felt like the School would help with their extra votes. Mr. <br />Mihalkanin stated there is an informal agreement with the School that they <br />will help with the extra votes they do not need. The Council then voted <br />unanimously for adoption of the Resolution. <br /> <br />Mayor Habingreither introduced for consideration approval of minutes of <br />the Regular Meeting held November 24, 2003, adoption of two Ordinances on <br />third and final reading, and adoption of five Resolutions, on consensus. <br />Mr. Montoya moved for approval of minutes of the Regular Meeting held <br />November 24, 2003, adoption of two Ordinances on third and final reading, <br />and adoption of five Resolutions, and Mr. Taylor seconded the motion, <br />which passed unanimously (Mayor Habingreither and Mr. Mihalkanin abstained <br />on Item 12, adoption of Resolution regarding an Agreement with Texas State <br />University-San Marcos).
