<br />A. <br /> <br />B. <br /> <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS <br />RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR ELECTRIC SERVICE <br /> <br />Discontinuance of Service <br /> <br />Customer's Reauest <br /> <br />A custoMer may request service to be discontinued during <br />regular business hours. The customer is responsible for any <br />use of the electric service until the City has had a <br />reasonable time to secure a final reading or to remove the <br />meter. <br /> <br />Non-Payment of Bills or Non-com91iancew~th Service Contract <br /> <br />The due date of the bill for utility service shall not be <br />less than fifteen (15) days after the date of issuance of <br />the bill. A bill for utility service is delinquent if <br />unpaid by the due date. <br /> <br />Service may be disconnected for non-payment if a termination <br />notice is given after the due date and twenty-five (25) days <br />have elapsed froM the date of issuance of the bill. Payment <br />is considered to be received when it reaches the offices of <br />the city. <br /> <br />A penalty of ten percent (10%) will be made on all delin- <br />quent bills. <br /> <br />Service may be discontinued by the City for failure of the <br />customer to pay bills in accordance with the provisions <br />stated herein under "payment of Bills'" or to comply with the <br />terms of the service contract or these Rules and Regulations <br />or the applicable rate schedule. <br /> <br />Service will not be disconnected provided a physician con- <br />tacts the city's electric utility office before the due date <br />and certifies in writing, within ten (10) days after the due <br />date, that discontinuance of service will result in someone <br />at that residence becoming seriously ill or more seriously <br />ill. <br />
