<br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS <br /> <br />DISTRIBUTION LINE EXTENSION POLICY <br /> <br />I. GENERAL - It shall be the policy of the City to furnish <br />electric service to its customers from distribution lines of <br />standard voltages. The type and location of lines required <br />to supply electric service shall be determined by the City <br />at its sole discretion¡ however, said lines shall be <br />constructed in accordance wi th sound engineering practices <br />and shall meet as a minimum the standards outlined in the <br />NATIONAL ELECTRICAL SAFETY CODE. <br /> <br />The city will administer its Line Extension Policy, cons- <br />truct distribution lines and other associated facilities, <br />and provide any other related services, through its Opera- <br />ting Agent, the Lower Colorado River Authority ("LCRA"). <br /> <br />II. REQUIREMENTS FOR SERVICE - The provisions of this Policy <br />shall apply to all line extensions required to serve cus- <br />tomers in the electric service territory of the City. The <br />specific requirements for extensions for the types of ser- <br />vice listed below are set forth in the Appendixes attached <br />hereto. <br /> <br />TYPE OF SERVICE <br /> <br />APPENDIX <br /> <br />RESIDENTIAL <br />COMMERCIAL <br />INDUSTRIAL <br />MUNICIPAL <br />LIGHTING <br />SPECLAL FACILITIES <br />SUBDIVISION DEVELOPMENTS <br />TEMPORARY <br /> <br />A <br />B <br />C <br />D <br />E <br />F <br />G <br />H <br /> <br />III. LINE EXTENSION RIGHTS The City, as a condition for <br />providing service to the premises, shall have at all times <br />complete ownership and control of the entire line construc- <br />ted and shall have the right to serve others from said line <br />and/or any extension thereof, without any obligation to re- <br />fund any part of the payment for excess construction costs. <br /> <br />IV. JOINT CONSTRUCTION - The estimated cost to the applicant <br />where an excess construction payment is required shall be <br />charged whether or not "joint construction" is used. Joint <br />construction is defined as pole line construction in con- <br />junction with another utility. <br />
