<br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS <br />DISTRIBUTION LINE EXTENSION POLICY <br /> <br />APPENDIX B <br /> <br />COMMERCIAL SERVIC~ <br /> <br />The City will construct an overhead primary line extension to <br />provide permanent service to a commercial facility requiring full <br />time service at the regular established rates and minimum monthly <br />charges under the following conditions: <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />GENERAL SERVICE AND SMALL COMMERCIAL <br /> <br />a. <br /> <br />b. <br /> <br />A standard overhead line extension of up to 1200 feet <br />for single phase service or 400 feet for three phase <br />service, will be provided for General Service and Small <br />Commercial customers requiring full time service to <br />shops, stores, offices and other similar facilities. <br />Non-standard installations and extensions in excess of <br />the above stated footage will only be made if the <br />customer pays the additional cost incident thereto. <br /> <br />Electric service will be provided to water wells, <br />barns, signs and other non-residential locations from <br />the City's existing primary lines. In situations where <br />the extension of primary facilities is required, the <br />applicant will be required to pay the estimated cost in <br />advance for constructing the extension. <br /> <br />LARGE COMMERCIAL - The City will extend standard overhead <br />lines to provide service to a Large Commercial customer re- <br />quiring full time electric service up to 1,200 feet for sin- <br />gle phase service or for 400 feet for three phase service. <br /> <br />The customer may be required to pay the cost for those situ- <br />ations where the line extension exceeds the length allowed. <br />However, each new Large Commercial facility will be evalu- <br />ated to determine if the anticipated annual revenues will <br />provide the necessary margins to permit a longer extension. <br /> <br />EXCESS CONSTRUCTION COST DETERMINATION - In the situation <br />where a line extension for electric service exceeds the max- <br />imum length provided as a standard by the city, the customer <br />will be required to pay the City, in advance of any con- <br />struction of the extension, an amount to be determined as <br />follows: <br /> <br />The required length of the extension shall be <br />established by a field survey performed by <br />the city. The total length of the extension <br />will be reduced by the maximum allowed for <br />the type of service to obtain the excess <br />construction required stated in feet. The <br />
