<br />specifications, and all traffic will be kept off the <br /> <br />pavement for a minimum of 72-hours after placing. <br /> <br />After <br /> <br />the concrete has cured, the Utility/Contractor should <br /> <br />promptly clean the area and remove all debris and <br /> <br />barricades. <br /> <br />The Construction Inspector will notify the <br /> <br />Public Works Department when the cut area is clear and <br /> <br />~cceptable. <br /> <br />(See Attachments Nos. 4 and 6) <br /> <br />4. <br /> <br />"Full Depth" Asphalt Pavement: <br /> <br />Where the existing pavement <br /> <br />is "full depthn asphalt, the new pavement will be "full <br /> <br />depth" asphalt of the same thickness and type. <br /> <br />The <br /> <br />temperature of the hot mix asphalt concrete must be 200 <br /> <br />degrees or greater and the existing asphalt must be tacked <br /> <br />with liquid asphalt. <br /> <br />The size of the cut may require the <br /> <br />base to be primed with liquid asphalt and the hat mix <br /> <br />asphalt concrete placed with an approved lay-down machine. <br /> <br />(See Attachment No.5) <br /> <br />5. <br /> <br />Cuts in New Streets: <br /> <br />Cuts in new streets should be <br /> <br />avoided. <br /> <br />However, if no option such as baring or laying <br /> <br />parallel lines outside the street are possible, cuts in new <br /> <br />streets may be approved an the fallowing basls: <br /> <br />a. <br /> <br />The Utility/Contractor requesting the cut must do so in <br />writing to the Department of Public Works. <br /> <br />b. <br /> <br />Cost and reasonableness of ather options shall be <br /> <br />indicated in the letter and attached plan. <br /> <br />c. <br /> <br />Cuts are to be backfilled using 2 sack (lean) concrete <br />to a point 7ft below the surface. <br /> <br />d. <br /> <br />The remaining area shall be backfilled with 5 sack <br /> <br />3,000 psi concrete. <br /> <br />a <br />
