<br />REQUIREMENTS FOR STREET CUTS AND REPAIRS <br /> <br />In accordance with provisions of the City of San Marcos, <br /> <br />Code of Ordinances, Appendix H, any person who undertakes any <br /> <br />work which will cut, break or otherwise damage a public street <br /> <br />(right-of-way) or alley must obtain a right-of-way construction <br />permit from the Director of Public Works prior to beginning the <br /> <br />work.. <br /> <br />Similarly, any person who undertakes to cut any street <br /> <br />paving or alley paving in the City must restore the paving or <br /> <br />reimburse the City for all work performed by the City in <br /> <br />restoring the pavement to its original condition. <br /> <br />Arrangements <br /> <br />for pavement restoration will be made at the time of permit <br /> <br />applications. <br /> <br />RESPONSIBILITY FOR BARRICADES <br /> <br />1 . <br /> <br />The Utility and/or Contractor shall meet all requirements <br /> <br />for barricading and traffic control as specified in the <br /> <br />Texas - Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />(including latest revision). <br />All barricades used by the Contractor or Utility shall be <br /> <br />clearly marked to indicate the name and telephone number of <br /> <br />the utility or contractor responsible for the work or a <br /> <br />2'x2' sign with this information will be permanently <br /> <br />displayed. <br /> <br />.Except as noted, these requirements do not apply to street cuts <br />made while clearing for street paving projects. Also, the <br />ordinance allows cuts prior to obtaining a permit in valid <br />emergen~les. However, when an emergency cut is made, a permit <br />must be requested not later than the morning of the following <br />work day. <br />
