<br />A. <br /> <br />v. <br /> <br />CLASSIFICATION AND COMPENSATION <br /> <br />POSITION CLASSIFICATION <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />Plan Preparation and Maintenance - The Director of <br /> <br />Personnel shall be responsible for preparation and <br />administration of a Position Classification Plan for <br /> <br />all City positions. <br /> <br />All positions shall be assigned <br /> <br />an official classification title, a description of <br /> <br />duties and minimum qualifications. <br /> <br />Each new or <br /> <br />revised position must be reviewed by the Job <br />Evaluation Committee and approved by the Director of <br /> <br />Personnel and the City Manager or Assistant City <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />Manager. <br />Exempt and Nonexempt Employees - All City positions <br /> <br />are classified as either exempt or nonexempt. <br /> <br />Per <br /> <br />Fair Labor Standard Guidelines exempt employees do <br /> <br />not receive overtime pay, nonexempt employees receive <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />overtime pay. <br />Job Titles - Each job will have an official job <br /> <br />classification title which shall be used in all <br /> <br />personnel matters, official records, payroll records, <br /> <br />4. <br /> <br />and budgets. <br />Temporary Employees - Temporary employees are <br /> <br />employees who are hired to perform a specific job for <br /> <br />a limited period of time. <br /> <br />Temporary employees do not <br /> <br />-23- <br />
