<br />is the month the employee assumed his/her current <br /> <br />position. <br /> <br />Salary increases will be effective on the <br /> <br />employee's anniversary date. The amount of the salary <br />increase will be determined by the employee's current <br /> <br />performance rating. <br /> <br />The amount of the increase is <br /> <br />indicated on the Performance Appraisal Salary Increase <br />Conversion Chart available in the Personnel Department. <br /> <br />This chart will be updated and approved by City Council <br /> <br />annually based on labor market and economic factors. <br /> <br />All <br /> <br />new employees will receive a probationary review at the <br /> <br />completion of their first six (6) months of employment. <br /> <br />other employees may receive special probationary reviews <br />in accordance with the established procedures in the <br /> <br />Performance Appraisal Guidelines. <br /> <br />Employees shall be <br /> <br />paid no less than the minimum of the salary range <br /> <br />established for the position. <br /> <br />The following exceptions <br /> <br />may be made when approveg by the City Manager or <br />Assistant City Manager: <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />when a period of training is required to demonstrate <br />the employee's ability to perform the duties; (i.e., <br /> <br />trainee status, normally not to exceed three (3) <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />months) ¡ or <br />when the employee is temporarily assigned to a <br /> <br />position in a higher grade, normally not to exceed <br /> <br />one (1) month. <br /> <br />-33- <br />
