<br />twenty-five (25) years of crëditable service. <br /> <br />Employees may retire at any age after completion of <br />twenty-eight (28) years of creditable service. <br /> <br />Additional information may be obtained from the <br /> <br />Benefits Manager or the Director of Personnel <br />regarding items A through D, retirement options, <br /> <br />disability retirement, death benefits, withdrawal of <br /> <br />benefits, and retirement procedures. <br /> <br />B. <br /> <br />INSURANCE <br /> <br />The City of San Marcos provides group medical, dental, <br />life and AD & D insurance coverage to eligible City <br /> <br />employees, and optionally for their dependents <br /> <br />(dependents medical/dental only). <br /> <br />The Benefits Manager, <br /> <br />will.provide current information concerning eligibility, <br /> <br />coverage and cost. <br /> <br />The nature and extent of insurance <br /> <br />coverage is subject to cbange. <br /> <br />There is a thirty (30) <br /> <br />day waiting period for medical, dental, life and AD & D <br /> <br />insurance coverage for new employees. <br />COBRA-The Federal government has exacted the Consolidated <br /> <br />Omnibus Reconciliation Act of 1985 (COBRA) which allows <br /> <br />certain individuals the option of continuing their group <br /> <br />health insurance under specified conditions. <br /> <br />Details of <br /> <br />this act can be obtained from the Benefits Manager. <br /> <br />-36- <br />
