SECTION 4. Sections 14.375 and 14.376 of the City Code are repealed and <br />reserved for future use. <br /> <br /> SECTION 5. Section 14.377 of the San Marcos City Code, is amended as <br />follows (underlining indicates added text, ~ indicates deleted text): <br /> <br />Sec. 14.377. Issuance, renewal of license. <br /> <br />(a) Upon receiving a completed application form, any required proof of passing a <br />licensinq test, and a current insurance certificate meetinq the requirements of <br />Section 14 009 .... ~ ..... '~" o,q *~' ..... ~,,.~,~,,,, ~,-,r ~ ~ ........ '~'-- this <br />division, the building official will issue a license to the applicant sueeessful <br /> <br />(b) No license will be issued for more than one year. A license may be renewed <br />from year to year upon application of the holder. All licenses issued under this <br />division expire on the last day of December. <br /> <br />(c) Any licensee failing to make application for renewal of a license within 60 <br />days after its expiration is considered as an applicant for an original license. This <br />section does not permit construction work by a contractor with an expired license. <br /> <br />(d) A licensee shall have the appropriate license in his immediate possession at <br />all times when doing any construction work, and shall display it upon demand by <br />any peace officer, by the building inspector or building official, or by the owner or <br />manager of the premises or property upon which the licensee is working, offers <br />to work or has worked. <br /> <br />(e) If a license or permit issued under this article is lost or destroyed, the person <br />to whom it is issued may obtain a duplicate upon furnishing proof satisfactory to <br />the building official that the permit or license was lost or destroyed and upon <br />payment of a fee. <br /> <br />(f) Each person who obtains a license shall register with the building official. The <br />registration will include the person's name, residential address, and business <br />address. If any changes occur in the information provided, the licensee shall <br />amend the registration to reflect the changes within ten business days of the <br />change. <br /> <br />(g) Prior to the renewal of any contractor's license, the contractor shall complete <br />six hours of continuing education approved by the building official, and shall <br />submit proof of this completion to the buildin.q official. <br /> <br /> <br />
