STRATEGIC RECOMMENDATIONS <br />The Strategy creation process began with three significant research components <br />which included quantitative and qualitative inputs. Many people <br />Marcos area have contributed to this Strategy. What follows reflects the combination <br />of the research and guidance from the Steering Committee. <br /> <br />Economic development in todays world is a very competitive busi <br />complicated process. Whether it is growing small businesses, ex <br />firms, or recruiting new companies, the basic components of successful community <br />and economic development are the same. <br /> <br />This is a comprehensive Strategy with a long-term goal of making Greater San <br />Marcos a more prosperous place with greater opportunity for all <br />important to remember that this is not a Strategy for an organization, it is for the <br />region. <br /> <br />This process has revealed three key goal areas for the San Marco <br /> <br />Workforce Excellence <br />Economic Diversification <br />Quality of Place <br /> <br />They are of equal importance. One is no more important than the others. They are <br />interdependent and success depends on each one being advanced. <br />several objectives and under each objective, there are action st <br /> <br />This Strategy will require the cooperation of numerous organizations and indiv <br />the how. New partnerships and cooperation will be <br />needed to ensure success. <br />Finally, it is important to remember that this Strategy is a multi-year plan. It cannot <br />be done all at once. These details will be <br />outlined in the Implementation Plan. <br /> <br />Greater San Marcos is ready to go to the next level. This Strategy is the road map for <br />action.
