Distribute the packet to attendees of Greater San Marcos <br />developer tours. <br />o <br />Support quality of life and housing initiatives that improve the <br />attractiveness of the region to professionals. <br /> <br /> <br />Action 2: Pursue emerging industries that will improve the long-term <br />vitality of Greater San Marcos <br />. <br />Green Industries <br />o <br />Position a Greater San Marcos representative on the Greater Aust <br />Chamber of Commerces Green Job Steering Committee, to be <br />formed in response to its Green Jobs Task Force report (issued i <br />June 2009). The Steering Committee will organize the region so that <br />it can truly develop into center for Green jobs. <br />Coordinate new area marketing efforts with EDSMs planned <br />future public relations campaign for Green Jobs. <br />o <br />As new Green workforce training programs become available at ACC <br />through the recent Green <br />Corridor Collaborative, explore <br />potential small business <br />development or recruitment <br />activities that may help build a <br />greater Green business <br />presence. <br />o <br />Support the passage of the <br />Manufacturing Progress and Clean Technology (IMPACT) Act of <br />2009, which would provide money to states for revolving loan fun <br />to help manufacturers improve their energy efficiency and transition <br />to more green/clean operation systems. <br />o <br />Support the start up and location of green companies interested <br />connecting with TXSTs talent and research assets.
