A lack of mid- to high-income housing is a serious inhibitor to recruiting <br />higher wage employers. Greater San Marcos has an urgent need for professional and <br />executive level housing for higher wage earners. Additionally, affordability is said to <br />be a local concern as prices beyond the reach of many low-skill sector workers and <br />early-career professionals. Public and private leadership must be vigi <br />that Greater San Marcos’ low wages do not price residents of out of the region. <br /> <br />Community leaders should take reasoned, <br />feasible actions to help grow housing market <br />segments that serve key workforce <br />constituencies, especially young <br />professionals.
