Goal Areas <br />Greater San Marcos Economic Developments sole purpose is to coordinate the <br />implementation of the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy. As such, its <br />personnel and programming should reflect the Strategys goals, objectives, and <br />actions. <br /> <br />The Strategy focuses on three primary goals: <br /> <br />Workforce Excellence <br />Economic Diversification <br />Quality of Place <br />The three goals are interrelated and must be approached systemat <br />achieve results in one goal significantly threatens the others. The interrelation of the <br />goals will compel Greater San Marcos many stakeholders to work collaboratively. <br />Though Greater San Marcos Economic Development will serve as the lead <br />implementation entity, success hinges on sustained, positive involvement from all <br />organizations represented in the Partners for Progress and beyond. <br />Structure <br />The structure of the implementing organization corresponds to thgoal <br />areas and programmatic components of the Strategy. Day-to-day staff activities and <br />performance measures should be directly related to the program o <br />recommended in this Implementation Plan. <br />PP-SV <br />UBLIC AND RIVATEECTOR OLUNTEERS <br />Without strong, sustained participation from key Greater San Marcos stakeholders, <br />successful implementation of the Strategy will be severely challenged. Increasing the <br />regions private sector involvement in economic development will <br />enhance efforts to realize the ambitions of the Strategy.
