Greater San Marcos Economic Development: Recommended Staff <br />Structure <br /> <br />Specific descriptions of the additional staff persons Market Street recommends at the <br />rebranded regional EDO are detailed in the Appendix. While Market Street <br />understands that additional staff persons represent a large increase in capacity, the <br />current capacity to implement the Strategy on a daily basis does not exist. <br />Action Committees <br />The implementation effort will benefit from the formation of Action Committees <br />oriented around major topics addressed in the Strategy. Each Action Committee will <br />be comprised of individuals from organizations closely related to the <br />Committees will meet on a regular basis to discuss the Strategy’s progress and how to <br />integrate their activities to move implementation forward. Acti <br />also serve as advisors to the Greater San Marcos Economic Develo <br />member assigned to their topic. <br /> <br />The Action Committees are “where the rubber meets the road” in terms of <br />implementation. These groups will include top representatives from key community <br />stakeholder entities involved in supportive implementation activGreater San <br />Marcos. Initially, three Action Committees should form around the goal areas of the <br />Strategy (listed below). As implementation progresses, additional Action Committees <br />may be established to support specific elements of the campaign. <br /> <br />Workforce Excellence: This Committee should be comprised of leaders who can <br />speak to both supply and demand issues related to Greater San Ma <br />workforce. Potential members of this Committee could include representative <br />from the following: <br />o <br />Pre-K–12 education <br />o <br />Texas State University–San Marcos <br />Implementation Plan 10 <br />September 2009 <br /> <br />
