27. Discussion and update on the status of the automated meter reading proiect. <br />Dale Pennington, with UtiliWorks, reported on the status of the project. Everything is on <br />schedule, and they will begin educating the customer base. Many cities are looking at <br />how they receive their power, and focusing on green initiatives, since they can view real <br />time data updated every fifteen minutes. Action was not required by Council. <br />28. Presentation by LCRA regarding an upcoming fuel rate increase. <br />Marcus Pridgeon, Assistant General Manager for LCRA, distributed information to the <br />Council and explained power cost increases and why. The average customer will see an <br />increase of $15 - $18 during summer months. Action was not required by Council. <br />29. Question and answer session with press and public. <br />Sean Wardwell, News Treams.com, asked if Councilmember Jones was going to observe <br />towing tomorrow. Councilmember Jones said yes and invited him to join. <br />30. Adjournment. <br />MOTION: Upon a motion made by Councilmember Jones and a second by <br />Councilmember Thomaides, the City Council voted six (6) for and none (0) opposed, <br />with Councilmember Guerrero having left early, to adjourn the regular session of the San <br />Marcos City Council at 10:14 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1, 2008.
