1.2.10 Dwelling unit - Any group of rooms located within a dwelling and forming a single habitable <br />unit with facilities which are used, or are intended to be used, for living, sleeping, cooking and <br />eating. <br />1.2.11 Hazardous waste - Any chemical, compound, mixture, substance or article designated as a <br />"hazardous material" under state or federal law. <br />1.2.12 Multi-Family Apartment Complex- A residential complex consisting of more than 4 <br />contiguous dwelling units. <br />1.2.13 Producer or customer- An occupant of a residential unit who generates recyclable material. <br />1.2.14 Program Manager - The City representative responsible for overseeing the solid waste and <br />recycling programs for the City. <br />1.2.15 Recyclable materials - Garbage or rubbish material that still has useful physical or chemical <br />properties after serving its original purpose and that can be reused or remanufactured into other <br />products. Recyclable materials includes all classes of materials such as newspaper; office paper <br />(plain or colored, envelopes, stationery and sticky notes, shredded paper); junk mail (inserts, <br />magazines, catalogs, ad circulars, etc.); boxboard (food box packaging such as cereal boxes); <br />corrugated cardboard; tin and aluminum food cans (with or without labels) or beverage cans; rigid <br />plastic jugs and bottles with recycle symbol l" through #7; round plastic tubs (yogurt and butter tubs) <br />with recycle symbol #1 through #7; small plastic food packaging (fruit cups, and baby food <br />containers); unbroken glass bottles or jars of any color which are collected in one container either by <br />mechanical or manual means for transport to a recyclable materials processing facility for automated <br />sorting and processing. <br />1.2.16 Recyclable Materials Processing Facility - A full service multi-materials recycling facility <br />which accepts bulk delivery of recyclable materials and processes, sorts, and prepares the materials <br />for shipment to raw materials commodity end users for manufacture into new products. <br />1.2.17 Residential unit - A self contained dwelling unit within a multifamily structure. <br />1.2.18 Single Stream Recycling - Co-mingled collection, transportation, and processing of <br />recyclable materials. <br />1.2.19 Solid waste - Garbage, rubbish, bulky waste, construction debris, stable matter, tree <br />trimmings and yard waste not suitable for processing at a recyclable materials processing facility. <br />1.2.20 Source separated recycling - Recyclable materials to be accumulated at the <br />producer/customer location in multiple, separate containers for plastics, glass, metal cans and mixed <br />paper. <br />[3]
