1.2.21 Work - The furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment, services and other incidentals <br />necessary for the successful completion of the Contract and the carrying out of all duties and <br />obligations imposed by this Contract on the Contractor. <br />Section 1.3 Multi-Family Recycling Collection Services <br />1.3.1 Multi-Family Recycling Services <br />The Contractor will provide Services within the City to collect recyclable materials from designated <br />multi-family apartment complexes and occupied units of these complexes for six months. The <br />Contractor will be required to provide appropriate supervision, materials, equipment, and labor for <br />the operation of recycling services as follows: <br />A. Provide recycling bins, as approved by the City, for each occupied individual dwelling unit <br />for the collection of recyclable materials for each month of the Program. These bins will be <br />generic in appearance and will not include business logos or customization of any kind. <br />These bins will become the City's property upon completion of the Program. <br />B. For the Program locations enumerated in Subsection 1.1.2, provide 96-gallon containers, of <br />sufficient number, as determined by the City, for the collection of recyclable materials <br />without overflow. All containers provided by the Contractor will be appropriately labeled by <br />class(es) of recyclable items. The City's Program Manager will be responsible for reviewing <br />access, space, and quantity of materials for individual complexes. The Program Manager <br />may request alternative container types, number of containers and location of pickup based <br />on a review of operations to accommodate complexes experiencing collection problems. <br />Final determinations of number, size, location, or type of containers will be made by the City. <br />C. The City understands and agrees that the Contractor has the right to not collect recyclable <br />materials from any location deemed to have a significant amount (25% or more) of <br />contamination in containers. The Contractor will notify the City on a daily basis of <br />containers not serviced due to contamination. However, final determination as to whether <br />contamination is significant will rest with the City. <br />D. Market and ship all recyclable materials to raw materials end users for manufacturer into new <br />products in accordance with all applicable local, state and federal laws and regulations/or <br />transport to a recycling materials processing facility. Under no circumstances will recyclable <br />materials be disposed of at a solid waste disposal site. <br />E. Ensure that all grounds, vehicles and equipment used by the contractors in the performance <br />of these services are kept in good repair and appearance and in sanitary condition. In this <br />regard, the Contractor will ensure that the collection site is free from loose and windblown <br />recyclable materials. <br />[4]
