CENTRAL TEXAS CLEAN CITIES <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING <br /> <br />By and among the following Federal, State, Municipal, and private <br /> <br /> entities: <br />City of Austin, U.S. Department of Energy, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. General Services <br />Administration, United States Postal Service, Texas Building and Procurement Office, Raih-oad Commission of <br />Texas, State Energy Conservation Office/Comptroller of Public Accounts, Texas Department of Health, Texas <br />Department of Mental Health & Mental Retardation, Texas Department of Transportation, Texas General Land <br />Office, Texas Commission for Environmental Quality, University of Texas at Austin, Texas Propane Gas <br />Association, Texas Renewable Energy Industries Association, Lower Colorado River Authority, Capital <br />Metropolitan Transportation Authority, Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, Austin Independent School <br />District, CLEAN AIR Force of Central Texas, Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce, Alternate Fuel Systems <br />Automotive, Clean Fueling Technologies, Cummins Southern Plains, H~.B Grocery, Suburban Propane LP, <br />SuperShuttle of Austin, Inc., The Green Group, U-HAUL International, Inc., Bastrop Independent School <br />District, Alternative Fuel Technologies, Capital Area Rural Transit System (CARTS), Center Point Energy <br />Alternative Fuels(formerly Reliant/Entex), Electric Vehicles of Texas, Emissions Teclmology of Texas L.L.C., <br />GREENFUELS Inc., Hangers Cleaners, Texas Campaign for the Environment, Travis County, CenturyTel, <br />Clean Energy, Gary Job Corps Center, Good Company & Associates, Best BioFuels, World Energy <br /> <br /> he purpose of this Memorandum of Understanding, is to renew voluntary <br />mommitments to achieve alternative fuel vehicle goals; to re-affirm commitments <br />by existing stakeholders; to amend the name of the Austin Clean Cities to Central <br />Texas Clean Cities; to increase the number of stakeholders participating in the <br />Clean Cities Program; and to foster a collaborative effort among stakeholders to <br />develop and establish an alternative fuel infrastructure within Central Texas <br />that will achieve the overall mission of the Clean Cities Coalition to improve <br />air quality and facilitate energy independence by encouraging and accelerating <br />the use of alternative fuel vehicles (AFVs) through the increased use and <br />understanding of alternative fuels; and <br /> <br />~entral Texas Clean Cities, will coordinate efforts in the interest of: <br /> <br /> .:. Reducing dependence on petroleum-based and imported fuels, as specified in <br /> <br />the Energy Policy Act of 1992; <br /> <br /> <br />
