She stated this is the same method Comal and Guadalupe <br />Counties use. On roll call for adoption of the Resolution, the following <br />vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: <br /> <br />Narvaiz, Thomaides, Mihalkanin, Habingreither, Taylor and Diaz. <br /> <br />NAY: Montoya. <br /> <br />ABSTAIN: None. <br /> <br />Mayor Habingreither introduced for consideration approval to set date for <br />first City Council Regular Meeting in March, 2004. Mr. Mihalkanin moved to <br />move the March 8, 2004, Regular Meeting to March 1, 2004, and Mr. Montoya <br />seconded the motion. Ms. Narvaiz stated since she was the only Council <br />Member attending the National League of Cities Congressional City <br />Conference, she did not feel it would be necessary to move the meeting. <br />Mr. Mihalkanin and Mr. Montoya rescinded the motion and second. <br /> <br />Mayor Habingreither introduced the City Council's Report. 1) Mayor <br />Habingreither reminded citizens the Budget Workshops are scheduled for <br />Friday, February 27, 2004, from 1:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. and Saturday, February <br />28, 2004, beginning at 9:00 a.m. 2) Mr. Taylor stated he attended the San <br />Marcos Hispanic Chamber Banquet. He stated it was a wonderful banquet. <br />He also congratulated Mayor Habingreither for winning the Chairman's <br />Award, which was given for his impact and contributions to the San Marcos <br />Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. <br /> <br />Mayor Habingreither introduced an Executive Session pursuant to the <br />Government Code, Sections 551.072 and 551.073, to discuss purchase of real <br />property (W. Hopkins Street area, Sink Creek area, downtown area); Section <br />551.074, to discuss duties of a public officer (City Manager); and Section <br />551o087, to discuss commercial or financial information that the <br />governmental body has received from a business prospect that the <br />governmental body seeks to have locate, stay or expand in or near the <br />territory of the governmental body and with which the governmental body is <br />conducting economic development negotiations; or to deliberate the offer <br />of a financial or other incentive to such a business prospect (Aquarena <br />Springs Drive/Post Road area; Area Chamber and Hispanic Chamber prospect <br />reports). Mr. Mihalkanin moved the Council adjourn into Executive <br />Session at 8:43 p.m. and Ms. Narvaiz seconded the motion, which passed <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Mihalkanin moved the Council reconvene at 10:48 p.m. and Ms. Narvaiz <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Habingreither introduced for consideration action or direction to <br />Staff on matters discussed in Executive Session.
