<br />The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.
<br />
<br />Mr. Cavazos issued proclamations in observance of American Legion
<br />Week and Girl Scout Week.
<br />
<br />The minutes of the regular meeting held Monday, March 5, 1979
<br />were approved on motion of Mr. Hyatt and second of Mr. Hansen.
<br />
<br />The Mayor read a resolution of commendation for the Southwest
<br />Texas State University Men's Basketball Team currently participat-
<br />ing in the NAIA National Championship. The resolution was
<br />unanimously adopted and presented to S.W.T.S.U. Athletic Director
<br />Bill Miller.
<br />
<br />The Mayor read the caption of an ordinance as follows:
<br />
<br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
<br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, REAPPROPRIATING
<br />FUNDS ORIGINALLY APPROPRIATED FUNDS
<br />ORIGINALLY APPROPRIATED BY ORDINANCE 1977-36,
<br />ADOPTED ON SEPTEMBER 12, 1977 AND DECLARING
<br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
<br />
<br />Mr. Hansen moved the ordinance be approved on second reading.
<br />Mr. James seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
<br />
<br />The Mayor read the caption of an ordinance as follows:
<br />
<br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
<br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING
<br />SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGU-
<br />LATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE
<br />OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED
<br />MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY CHANGING THE
<br />ZONING OF THE 0.74 ACRE TRACT IN T. J.
<br />CHAMBERS LEAGUE (MORE FULLY DESCRIBED BY
<br />METES AND BOUNDS IN ATTACHED EXHIBIT A),
<br />LOCATED ON LAMAR AVENUE, FROM "R-I"
<br />(SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL) TO "D"
<br />(MULTIFAMILY) .
<br />
<br />Mr. Breihan moved the ordinance be adopted on third and final
<br />reading. Mr. Hyatt seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
