36 regular meeting, march 12, 1979 page two The Mayor read the caption of an ordinance as follows: AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE TIME WITHIN WHICH THE TEXAS MUSEUM OF HISTORY, INC. WILL RETAIN THE POWERS GRANTED BY ORDINANCE NO. 1974-48, APPROVED ON SEPTEMBER 9, 1974, AND OF RECORD IN VOLUME 44, PAGE 47, OF THE MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND LATER AMENDED BY ORDINANCE 1977-46, APPROVED NOVEMBER 7, 1977, AND OF RECORD IN VOLUME 47, PAGE 168, OF THE MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL WHICH DEDICATED A CERTAIN TRACT OF REALTY FOR THE PURPOSE OF A PUBLIC MUSEUM, SAID TRACT TO BE USED FOR A MUSEUM, SAID MUSEUM TO BE CONSTRUCTED UNDER THE MANAGEMENT OF THE TEXAS MUSEUM OF HISTORY, INC.; EXTENDING THE TIME WITHIN WHICH THE BUILDING MUST BE COMPLETED; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OF SAN MARCOS TO ENTER INTO CONTRACTUAL AGREEMENTS WITH TEXAS MUSEUM OF HISTORY, INC., AND TO TAKE ALL STEPS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE INTENTS AND PURPOSES EXPRESSED HEREIN. I Mr. Hyatt moved the ordinance be adopted on third and final reading. Mr. Hansen seconded the motion which passed unanimously. The Mayor read the caption of an ordinance as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, ACCEPTING THE BID OF SAN MARCOS TELEPHONE COMPANY, INC. FOR THE PURCHASE OF A PORTION OF LOTS 16 AND 17 OF THE MILLVIEW ADDITION TO THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A SPECIAL WARRANTY DEED TO SAID BIDDER ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, IN TRUST, FOR ITSELF, THE STATE OF TEXAS, THE COUNTY OF HAYS, AND THE SAN MARCOS CONSOLIDATED INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. I Mr. Sutton moved the ordinance be adopted on third and final reading. Mr. James seconded the motion which passed unanimously. Colonel Jack N. Stovall carne before the City Council to report that a proposal had been received by the Airport Commission for the construction of additional T-hangars at the San Marcos Municipal Airport. Mr. Stovall informed the Council that the proposed hangars were larger than those owned by the City, that they would be privately constructed and leased on a commercial basis. Mr. Stovall also said that no action had been taken by the Commission and none was requested of the City Council at this point. Next Colonel Stovall discussed a proposal for the construction of I additional T-hangars by the City. Mr. Harvey Shephard, also a member of the Airport Commission, explained that the T-hangars to be constructed by the City would be exactly the type and size previously constructed. Mayor Cavazos moved the staff be authorized to proceed with planning for the construction of nine additional T-hangars to be financed through the certificates of obligation method. Mr. Sutton seconded the motion which passed unanimously. The Mayor introduced an appeal from the Planning and Zoning Commission's disapproval of the Castle Forest Subdivision plat. That appeal is attached and made a part of thse minutes. Mr. Paul Jones, Attorney for the applicant ANNCO, Inc., carne before the Council to say that the proposed subdivision was in compliance with all City codes, that it met all minimum
