<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />regular meeting, april 2, 1979 <br /> <br />page three <br /> <br />63 <br /> <br />The City Manager reported to the Council that a public official <br />liability insurance policy was available from Unimark-McDonald, <br />Inc. for coverage in the amount of $1,000,000 at a cost of <br />$2,550 annual premium. Mr. Dunlap explained that the policy had <br />been endorsed by the International City Manager's -Ass6ciation <br />and the National League of Cities and had also received the <br />approval of the Texas Municipal League. Mr. Hansen moved the <br />policy be purchased. Mr. James seconded the motion. Mr. Breihan, <br />stated that he wished to give local insurance companies a week to <br />review the policy, moved consideration be tabled. The motion <br />denied for lack of a second. On roll call, the following vote <br />was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Hansen, Cavazos, Hyatt, James <br />NAY: Breihan <br />ABSTAIN: Sutton. <br /> <br />The City Manager reported to the Council that he had received <br />numerous requests for re-instituting the brush collection <br />service cut from the budget in October. He then presented a <br />proposal for a spring clean-up project wherein the City would <br />haul brush for a period of about one month using not only <br />sanitation but any other available crews and equipment. <br />Mr. Breihan said he was in favor of such a special project so <br />as long as it was limited to residential use and not commercial <br />development. By common consent, Council agreed to authorize <br />the City Manager to proceed with the project. <br /> <br />At 9:00 p.m., the meeting was recessed to executive session on <br />motion of Mr. Hyatt and second of Mr. Breihan. The meeting <br />reconvened at 9:10 p.m. on motion of Mr. Hyatt and second of <br />Mr. Hansen. The Mayor reported that the Council had discussed <br />the recent rate increase proposals submitted by Lower Colorado <br />RiveT Authority. Mr. Hansen moved to authorize Staff to contact <br />utility rate consultants and a rates attorney to assist the City <br />in processing the Tate request. Mr. James seconded the motion <br />which passed unanimously. The Mayor, at the request of the <br />City Attorney, moved to specifically authorize the employment <br />of Don Butler to serve as special legal counsel in the Lower <br />Colorado River Authority rate case. Mr. James seconded the <br />motion which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The meeting adjourned at 9:20 p.m. on motion of Mr. Cavazos and <br />second of Mr. Hansen. <br /> <br />7~Q <br /> <br />Robert L.
