I~ ' 69 " MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APRIL 9, 1979 Present: Mayor Robert L. Cavazos Council Members Ted Breihan John A. Pryatel, Cris MacInytre, Jack Stovall, Gary Bond, Terry Roberts, Mrs. Gilbert Tenorio, Jeff Watkins, Chris Bishop, Jerri Martin, George Boeker, Austin Curlee, Ed Slaughter, Tom Word, Ed Fauver, Kenneth Long, and others. The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Mr. Hansen moved the minutes of the regular meeting held Monday, April 2, 1979 be approved. Mr. Hyatt seconded the motion. Mr. Breihan requested the motion be amended to include the following statement as a part of Mr. David Ybarra's report on Page 2 of the minutes: I "Mr. Ybarra stated that'he currentLy had 585'applications on file for public housing assistance and only 271 public housing units available in the City. Fifty-nine of the persons were elderly citizens, 205 qualified for I-bedroom units, 214 qualified for 2-bedroom units, 93 qualified for 3-bedroom units, and'18 qualified for 4-bedroom units." Mr. Hansen and Mr. Hyatt agreed to the addition to the minutes as a part of their motion which passed unanimously. The Oath of Office was administered by the City Secretary to re-elected Council Member Place 7 Robert L. Cavazos and Council Member Place 4 Gilbert G. Tenorio. Agenda Item #5 was deferred until the meeting following the Run-off Election to be held May 5, 1979. J The Mayor opened a public hearing to consider a request for a change in the zoning of 4.4 acres in J. M. Veramendi League #2 from "P" to "C". The applicant, Tom Woods, was not present. It was noted that the Planning and Zoning Commission had recommended approval of the request. No objections were received. The Mayor closed the public hearing and the ordinance having the following caption: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGU- LATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF 4.4 ACRES IN J. M. VERAMENDI LEAGUE #2, LOCATED ON CHEATHAM STREET, FROM "P" (PUBLIC) TO "c" (COMMERCIAL).
