Mr. Breihan <br />nominated Mr. Hyatt. Mr. James nominated Mr. Hansen. <br />Mr. Tenorio moved the nominations cease. On roll call, the <br />following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />HANSEN: Hansen, Cavazos, James, Tenorio <br />HYATT: Hyatt, Breihan. <br /> <br />Mayor Cavazos declared Mr. John A. Hansen elected new Mayor <br />of the San Marcos City Council and relinquished the chair I <br />to Mr. Hansen. Mayor Hansen called for nominations for <br />Mayor Pro Tem. Mr. Cavazos nominated Council Member <br />Gilbert Tenorio. Mr. Breihan nominated Council Member <br />Bob Hyatt. Mr. Hansen moved the nominations cease. Mr. James <br />seconded the motion which passed unanimously. On roll call, <br />the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />HYATT: Sutton, Breihan, Hyatt <br />TENORIO: Hansen, James, Tenorio, Cavazos. <br /> <br />Mayor Hansen declared Mr. Gilbert Tenorio elected Mayor Pro Tem. <br /> <br />Mr. Hansen announced that only two nominations had been received <br />for appointment to the five member Board of Equalization and <br />moved that consideration of the item be tabled. Mr. James <br />seconded the motion which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Hansen introduced consideration of confirmation of the <br />City Manager's appointment to the Civil Service Commission. <br />Mr. Dunlap introduced Mr. George Flores to fill the vacancy <br />created by the resignation of Mr. Rosalio Tobias. Mr. Hyatt <br />moved the appointment be confirmed. Mr. James seconded the <br />motion which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor read the caption of a resolution as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING THE <br />SUBMISSION OF A "SMALL CITIES" COMMUNITY <br />DEVELOPMENT APPLICATION TO THE DEPARTMENT <br />,OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT IN THE <br />AMOUNT OF $500,000.00 FOR USE IN THE' <br />VICTORY GARDENS AND DUNBAR AREAS. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Tenorio moved the resolution be adopted. Mr. James seconded <br />the motion. Director of Community Services and Development, <br />Albert Sierra, reported to the Council that the residents of the <br />Victory ,Gardens Additions wanted to request that sidewalk, <br />improvements' be added to the street improvements already discussed <br />by the Counci~: The motion to adopt the resolution was <br />un~nimously 'approved, <br /> <br />The Mayor read the caption of a resolution as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING <br />UTILITY JOINT USE AGREEMENT WITH THE <br />STATE DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS AND PUBLIC <br />TRANSPORTATION; AND DECLARING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Cavazos moved the resolution be adopted.
