<br />The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Mr. Hansen
<br />issued a proclamation in observance of Parks and Recreation
<br />month.
<br />
<br />The minutes of the Regular Meeting held Monday, May 21, 1979
<br />were approved on motion of Mr. Hyatt and second of Mr. James.
<br />The minutes of the Special Meeting held Wednesday, May 23, 1979
<br />were approved on motion of Mr. Cavazos and second of Mr. Breihan.

<br />Colonel Jack Stovall came before the City Council with a report
<br />from the Municipal Airport Commission on a lease proposal from
<br />Tejas Avionics. Col. Stovall reported that the company wished
<br />to lease 3,000 square feet in a vacant airport building and
<br />three T-hangars. The property would be used for a maintenance
<br />operation. Additionally, the company wished the City to construct
<br />a new maintenance building to be approximately 75 by 100 square
<br />feet and that they wished to acquire a 20 year lease on the
<br />property with a 20 year option. Mr. Stovall said the company
<br />would furnish a letter of intent to lease the property along with
<br />proposed building specifications, a financial statement and
<br />escrow money against the intended lease. Mr. Cavazos moved to
<br />authorize the Airport Commission to continue negotiations with
<br />Tejas Avionics. Mr. Tenorio seconded the motion which passed
<br />unanimously.

<br />The City Secretary read an ordinance having the following caption:
<br />
<br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
<br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, CLOSING,
<br />VACATING AND ABANDONING A PORTION OF
<br />GRACE STREET IN THE ROSE HILL ADDITION
<br />TO THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS; PROVID-
<br />ING FOR THE REVERSION OF THE FEE IN SAID
<br />LAND; AND SETTING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
<br />
<br />Mr. Breihan moved the ordinance be approved on first reading.
<br />Mr. James seconded the motion. Mr. Cavazos and Mr. Tenorio
<br />stated their opposition to abandoning only a portion of Grace
<br />Street, stating th~y preferred to abandon the entire amount
