Williams Albert Sierra Robert Minnie Also Present: Jake Krauskopf, Jim McCord, Lannie Griffith, John Dennison, Ruth Thomas, Joe Cox, Joe Cox, Jr., Gordon Thompson, Rosemary Davis, Bill Harrison, Jerri Martin, Gordon Hyatt, Wayne Moore, Austin Curlee, Terry Roberts, Scott Yarbrough, Jane Daniels, George Boeker, Jeff Watkins, Gilbert Jaimes, Charles Cole, Bill Nicola, and others. The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. The minutes of the regular meeting held Monday, June 4, 1979 were approved on motion of Mr. Hyatt and second of Mr. Cavazos. The minutes of the special meeting held Tuesday, June 5, 1979 were approved on motion of Mr. James and second of Mr. Tenorio. The minutes of the special meeting held Wednesday, June 6, 1979 were approved op motion of Mr. Cavazos and second of Mr. Hyatt. The minutes of the special meeting held Thursday, June 14, 1979 were approved on motion of Mr. James and second of Mr. Tenorio. Council Member Hyatt'moved to appoint Mrs. Sally Bowles to serve an unexpired term (ending October 1981) on the Library Board. The vacancy was created by the resignation of Mrs. Beatrice Flores. Mr. Breihan seconded the motion which passed unanimously. The Mayor directed the reading of an ordinance having the following caption: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING ORDINANCE 1979-20, ADOPTED MAY 14, 1979 WHICH APPOINTED MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF EQUALIZATION, TO ADD THE NAME OF ANOTHER MEMBER AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. Mr. Breihan moved that the ordinance appointing Mr. Glenn Norris to the Tax Board of Equalization be adopted on emergency. Mr. Cavazos seconded the motion which passed unanimously. The Mayor opened a public hearing to consider a request for a change in the zoning of three tracts of land in J. M. Veramendi League #1 from R-l to I. Jake Krauskopf was present to represent the applicant, Richard Burdick and others. Council Members discussed the feasibility of extending utility service to tract B as well as access to all portions of the property to be rezoned. No objections were presented to the rezoning. It was noted that the Planning and Zoning Commission had recommended approval of the request. Following the public hearing, an ordinance having
