<br />The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.
<br />
<br />The minutes of the regular meeting held Monday, June 18, 1979
<br />were approved on motion of Mr. James and second of Mr. Hyatt.
<br />
<br />The Mayor introduced an ordinance which was read in its
<br />entirety. The caption of'the ordinance is as follows:
<br />
<br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
<br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING
<br />ORDINANCE 1979-20, ADOPTED MAY 14, 1979
<br />WHICH APPOINTED MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF
<br />EQUALIZATION, TO 'ADD THE NAME OF ANOTHER
<br />MEMBER; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

<br />Mr. Breihan moved that the ordinance appointing Mr, Gene
<br />Swinney to the Board of Equalization be approved on emergency.
<br />Mr. Cavazos seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
<br />
<br />The Mayor opened a public hearing to consider a request for
<br />a change in the zoning of a 167.03 acre tract out of J. M.
<br />Veramendi League #2 from "R-l" to "I". Mr. W. C. Carson
<br />was present to represent the applicant, the San Marcos
<br />Industrial Foundation. No objections were presented to the
<br />zoning change. It was noted that the Planning and Zoning
<br />Commission had recommended approval. Following the public
<br />hearing, an ordinance having the following caption was read:

<br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING
<br />SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGU-
<br />LATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE
<br />OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED
<br />MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY CHANGING THE
<br />ZONING OF A 167.03 ACRE TRACT OUT OF
<br />J. M. VERAMENDI LEAGUE #2 (FURTHER
<br />DESCRIBED BY METES AND BOUNDS IN THE
<br />ATTACHED EXHIBIT A), LOCATED ON I. H. 35
<br />NORTH, FROM "R-1" (SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL)
<br />TO "I" (INDUSTRIAL).
